DHL launches Industry's first Global Customer Management Team
DHL, the global express and logistics expert, has launched a new business unit to manage its top global customers. The unit, Global Customer Solutions (GCS) will provide a single interface to all DHL products and services. GCS is the logistics industry's first such business unit, providing a fully customer-focused approach, rather than one lead by product or geography.
GCS was created to provide a single point of contact across all markets for DHL's top global customers. The team will coordinate all of DHL's air, freight and ocean services, as well as offering consultancy in solution development, implementation coordination, performance management and access to global industry expertise.
COO's Roger Crook and Guenter Rohrmann will lead the unit jointly. GCS will operate across all of DHL's markets, Americas, Asia Pacific, Emerging Markets and Europe, providing global consistency with local expertise. Its global centres of excellence in Fort Lauderdale, Brussels and Singapore are home to various customer facing and back office teams providing direct access to opportunities for improving total supply chains.
"With the creation of GCS, DHL becomes the first express and logistics company to offer a truly global, customer facing organisation," said Roger Crook. "The key to GCS success is DHL's unrivalled global network and range of products. The ability to develop solutions from our comprehensive range of express and logistics products and combine that with the power of dedicated teams to support day to day business is second to none. Supporting this, Guenter Rohrmann added "GCS will help customers achieve a seamless supply chain that can quickly react to changes and issues in any market. Our top global customers have asked for this service and DHL are now able to offer it to them."
